About 18 years ago I was invited in to do some training in BP not long after it’s controversial (if well I believe well-intentioned) rebranding from British to Beyond Petroleum.

The CEO at the time John Brown genuinely saw that the 100 year old company could not remain dependent on fossil fuels for another century.

Unfortunately, he was unable to turn the behemoth around, was replaced and business as usual continued.

Sadly as part of the rebranding and attempted change of direction many developers of Solar Power were bought up by BP at the time, then unceremoniously closed when the company’s political environment changed.

I hope they can do better this time.
