Happily not many of these make there way into my life.

What a chunk of them have in common is that they negate themselves. Just trivialises whatever follows it.

Certain of my relatives do something similar, when they annoy each other their phrase is

"I love you, BUT...."

I now call them the lovely butt family and use squeezing/arse slapping as a pattern interrupt. Sometimes it works.
