In a conversation with someone who's life turns around such topics I asked about individual affinities to particular deities or forces of nature/mind.

It came up while we were discussing the importance of the moon across cultures.

I'm drawn to the moon, but I wondered given the numberless gods and forces, was it right for me to play favourites with the moon?

The answer was that it is good to respect our spiritual affinities. Any god can lead to all gods. Love of one thing can lead to love of all things.
