This is perhaps tangential, but important to me. There may be a lot more to be said for living in caves...
First, they are one of the go to places for people seeking enlightenment in many traditions.
Second are cave dwelling ancestors had bigger brains than us, we might argue that it was well worthwhile ditching all the cognitive demands of an oral culture with technology that depended on embodied skills - but it is worth wondering what we have lost in the process.
