Why I do NOT want to be my ‘Best possible self’
Do you ever get irritated by buzzwords and catchphrases?
Me too. Walk into any community that considers itself special and you will be assaulted by the fuckers.
Do you know those straps they have in Yoga studios? They are actually for strangling the next twat who spouts nonsense they don’t understand about karma or chakras.
In case your Lululemon clad ass is butthurt over this I’m not really singling out Yoga people, they just happen to be really easy to strangle.
Probably the only people who are easier to strangle are the ones who do martial arts and won’t shut up about qi and lineage.
Today it’s the aspirational community that needs an arse boot.
I just want to be my best possible self.
It’s become hard to hear that phrase without my stomach turning over and losing my breakfast. Except, of course, I didn’t have any breakfast because I was too busy intermittently fasting.
It’s tough because some of my best friends are people who are just trying to be their best selves.
I do get that catchphrase, really I do. It nearly makes sense. Nearly.
